Hi

I was wondering does Simon use his Nova System into the front of the amp or in the loop?

Does he use the drive section from the Nova or the amps own overdrive?

I have just bought a Nova system and would just like to know how Simon uses his as I really like his overdrive sound and wondered if it was from the Nova System or his amp?

Hi Dave,

Simon puts the Nova through the effects loop and only uses the amp distortion. For his clean tone he generally just rolls off the volume pot. If it helps you to get his sound, he is using a PRS custom 24 (one normal and one private stock) with a custom wound bridge pick up by PRS for him and a DGT neck pickup, that is in the private stock 24. Other Custom 24 has Dragon II pickups. Amp used is Hughes and Kettner Tri Amp through his cab loaded with EV speakers. However, the amp on the recent Holland dates was a Marshall JVM.
